The organization known as We Are for Trump is amidst a huge shakeup in leadership with just 34 days until election day.

We Are for Trump Chair and Vice Chairs Dmitri Loutsik and Felippe Maher are out of their respective roles effective today and both were not present at Wednesday night’s meeting. Communications Director Chris Baker initially told the group that if they wanted to know why Loutsik and Maher left the group, they should solicit comments from the former directors themselves, but later gave reasons for both regarding conflicts with their schedules.

During the hour-long meeting, an array of topics were discussed, including the exits and the process to replace the two top administrators. At least seven people were nominated for chair and at least four people are in contention for vice chair. Nominees will have a week to prepare their statements to the general body and the members will presumably hold a vote next Wednesday, October 12 – 27 days from election day.

A video regarding freedom of expression and speech was shown during the meeting, an issue that has been stressed in meeting after meeting as student Trump supporters claim continued ostracization on campus. It was even proposed that the organization acquire a GoPro body camera to witness both encouragement and harassment from students. “Let’s start really becoming a presence on campus because once we have a presence on campus, fear will go away,” Baker said.

For now, Chris Baker remains as the only senior administration member of We Are for Trump, but he sounded very optimistic about the prospects of the upcoming group election.

We Are for Trump members will continue to table in the HUB and are considering new locations, including off campus sites. Also, members will attend a town hall forum being held by the Black Caucus and Latino Caucus at Penn State tomorrow.

Baker ended the meeting with some words of persistence. “Let’s just put all this negative crap aside and move forward,” Baker said.

“Eyes on the prize.”

UPDATE: We Are for Trump will hold its executive board meeting and election on Monday, October 10 at 9 p.m.
