“Government is not reason, it is not eloquence, it is force. Like fire, a troublesome servant, and a fearful master. Never for a moment, should it be left to irresponsible action,” Morss said, quoting George Washington.

“And last night, my friends, we all confirmed that it will not be for at least the next four years — Donald Trump!” shouted Bull-Moose Party Chairman Robert Morss in convening his meeting, which was followed with strong applause by a well-attended group of supporters in the Willard Building on the evening after Donald Trump stunned the country and the world by winning the U.S. presidential election.

“I love you guys so much,” Morss said. “Every single one of you guys was able to contribute to that victory.”

He said that the group had a hand in Trump’s historic Pennsylvania victory. “I know that the stats say that Centre county voted blue — I think it was rigged,” he joked.

“Everyone here has been working so hard to get that man in office and I’m proud of each and every one of you here,” Morss remarked.

Morss let students speak for about five minutes to discuss their election night festivities, and upon returning, he updated the group on what is next for the group. “This weekend, I don’t want anything to do with any of you,” Morss said.

“I really want you guys to go off and do your own thing. You guys have been working every weekend, slaving away to get Donald Trump elected,” he said. “This is your weekend of relaxation.”

He reiterated his past plans of having the group do service projects and collaborate with certain clubs to give back, as well as going on hunting trips.

Secretary Dominic DeCinti mentioned a possible talk to take place next Wednesday to speak with members of Students for Hillary to sit down and discuss the future under a Donald Trump presidency.

“Donald Trump spoke throughout the day saying that we have to have to start uniting America after this,” DeCinti said. “I believe this would be a great way for us to do it.”

Another matter discussed was the level of volunteering, with claims that the GOP victory office downtown at 232 South Burrowes St. surpassed all of their goals, including phone calls and doors knocked.

Morss ended his meeting by giving a history lesson to members by explaining several events and concepts in American history, including the Articles of Confederation, Shay’s Rebellion and the electoral college.

Communications Director Chris Baker effectively ended the meeting by asking members to consider principles they’d like to see the group uphold in the future as part of their club constitution.

“Come next week with ideas and ready to work,” Baker said.
